Above, Within, Beneath — nothing left unseen

About Site Matrix

A Melbourne-based, engineering-led inspection practice. Registered engineers across the disciplines your building depends on, and a field network that scales with your project.

Why Site Matrix?

Not a drone operator that also does some inspections

Site Matrix is an engineering-led inspection practice. The Above/Within/Beneath method exists because a camera, a thermal sensor or an ultrasonic probe is just a tool. The value is in an engineer knowing which one answers your actual question, and being accountable for the answer.

Leadership

The engineer behind every project

Site Matrix was founded by Nabil Abaki, a Registered Professional Engineer (Engineers Australia) with over 22 years in building services engineering. That includes leading and managing multidisciplinary engineering consulting teams across projects valued at $500 million and above.

That background shapes how Site Matrix operates. Every inspection and project follows a diagnostic discipline built from more than 500 system faults, anomalies and defects identified and resolved across HVAC, electrical and building services over two decades.

Thermal images, aerial inspections and non-destructive testing are only starting points. Engineering experience is what turns raw data into a correctly interpreted, properly prioritised, actionable finding. Nabil personally oversees the scope, quality and reporting of every Site Matrix engagement.

Our engineering team

Multidisciplinary by design

Building problems rarely stay inside one discipline. A thermal anomaly on a switchboard, water getting into a roof, a fire service that won't hold pressure: each one can need a different engineering view. Site Matrix brings in practising registered engineers in the relevant discipline whenever your project calls for it.

Engineering partner

Hydraulic & Fire Services

Water ingress, leak detection, plumbing and fire services review by practising engineers in the relevant field.

Engineering partner

Structural

Structural assessment of roofs, façades, cracking and defects identified during inspection.

Engineering partner

Electrical

Switchboard, distribution and solar findings, interpreted and endorsed by a registered electrical engineer.

Specific expertise, scoped to your project

Where a finding falls within a registered area of engineering, it is reviewed and endorsed by an engineer registered in that area. Beyond the core disciplines, we bring in façade, envelope, compliance or forensic expertise as your project needs it. You get one point of contact and one consolidated report.

Field capability

A field network that scales with your project

Behind our engineering team is a growing network of field specialists we engage on fixed, pre-agreed terms. That means consistent pricing and capacity whether the job is one switchroom or a multi-site portfolio.

Drone inspection crews

CASA-licensed remote pilots flying thermal-capable aircraft for roofs, façades, solar arrays and large sites, briefed and operating to Site Matrix capture procedures.

Thermography technicians

Trained operators capturing electrical, mechanical and building-envelope thermal data to a consistent Site Matrix standard, so every dataset is ready for engineering analysis.

All field data comes back to our Melbourne office. Thermographic analysis and reporting is done in-house by a Level 2 certified thermographer, and engineering review is carried out by the relevant registered engineer.

How we work

From scope to signed-off report

01

Scope

We define the question you need answered and the disciplines and methods it needs, at a fixed price.

02

Capture

Our team or network specialists capture aerial, thermal and NDT data on site to Site Matrix procedures.

03

Analyse

Data is analysed in our Melbourne office by a Level 2 thermographer and mechanical engineer.

04

Report & endorse

Findings are QA'd by the relevant registered engineer and delivered as one prioritised, actionable report.

One standard, every job

One point of accountability from scoping to final report

Fixed, transparent pricing agreed before work starts

Reports reviewed by registered engineers, not generated straight from the camera

Specialists brought in for the expertise your project actually needs
